Premier League preview

February 24, 2012 Leave a comment

The last matches before the international friendlies during the week sees only 9 matches in the Premier league. This is of course due to Liverpool’s involvement in the Carling Cup final on Sunday against Championship side Cardiff.

The highlight of the weekend must be the number 3 against the number 4, the north-London derby that is always guaranteed to lead to a cracking match, played in a charged atmosphere. A while ago Wenger promised the Arsenal fans that  they would finish above Spurs at the end of the season, so if that is the case, they have to win here. Spurs have been playing very well lately though, especially at home, and scoring freely. One to watch.

Belgian referee KO-ed by cardboard cup holder

Seemingly worthy of the best theatrical efforts a star striker possesses, this referee makes a meal of being hit by something form the crowd. The Belgian player at the end has made up his mind about what he thinks of it.

Premier League Preview

February 10, 2012 Leave a comment

It’s kicking off with a cracker in Manchester United against Liverpool, or is it going to be Patrice Evra against Luis Suarez, Round 2? Whatever the emotions on the pitch, this is a great way to start the weekend. United must win to stay in the race with their fellow Mancunians, and Liverpool must win to keep going for that 4th place.

The 3 o’clock kick-off also has plenty of interest. Both Chelsea and Arsenal are facing tough away matches. Arsenal are not great travellers to the northeast, and Chelsea have been very inconsistent of late so plenty of chances to lose points for both teams. At the other end of the table, Bolton are facing a must win home match against bottom team Wigan, who themselves have to go into this match trying to take all 3 points. Blackburn is at home to QPR and also really must win this match, whilst QPR can put a bit of distance between themselves and the bottom 3 teams.

The late kick-off is in White Hart Lane with (allegedly) future England boss and recently acquitted Harry Redknap trying to guid Spurs to a victory over 5th place Newcastle. The Geordies are not great London travellers so they will have to produce something extra if they want to come away with the points and try to maintain their push for 4th place.

Man City are playing on Sunday against Aston Villa to try to stay top of the bunch. Here are the matches.

This is the Bet2Go betting prediction:

ENGLISH PREMIER LEAGUE (11/12 Feb)
