Zlatan Ibrahimovic is leaving PSG
BREAKING NEWS: Zlatan Ibrahimovic will leave Paris St-Germain at the end of the season.
The 34-year-old Sweden striker’s contract with the French champions expires in the summer, and he has been linked with Manchester United, Los Angeles Galaxy and AC Milan.
CD Palencia take the p*ss with their playoff kit.
Would you play in this kit??
Spanish third division team CD Palencia has launched a new kit defined by some as “the most shocking in history.”
If the aim of Club Deportivo Palencia Balompié was to get the world to talk about them, the plan has certainly worked.
The ‘inside-out’ kit, made by Italian sportswear company Kappa, is an assault on eyes to say the least.
Jersey and shorts reproduce human anatomy, specifically bones and muscles. Field players sport realistic colours while the goalkeeper stands out in a purple version of the anatomical pattern. Mercifully the socks are plain black.
Perhaps the aim is to distract the opposition and that is very likely to work, judging by these photos.
Our new website and app are live
Specifically before Euro 2016 we wanted to build our new app, and finally it’s here. We hope it will be in the Apple app store soon, but it will work now as a mobile site, and as an Android app. Check it out here:
Premier League preview – the bottom of the table showdown
There are some hugely important matches being played tonight, and they are at the bottom of the league. Both sunderland and Norwich are playing their game in hand and whatever happens, the implications will be enormous.
Sunderland are hosting an out of sorts Everton, who seem to want the season to be over already. If the Black cats win the match, they will be safe again for another year, condemning both Norwich and their northeastern neighbours and biggest rivals Newcastle to the Championship.
Defoe’s goals at the weekend in their 3-2 win against Chelsea will have given them much hope that they can do it. Some expect a reaction from the Toffees after their dismal 3-1 defeat against Leicester, and with only 1 win in their last 9 games. The bookies don’t believe they will and Sunderland are 4/5 favourites with Everton trailing 7/2. If the Black cats don’t win it will be down to the last match on Saturday but they will still have matters into their own hands.
Norwich are facing a very tricky situation and the only thing they can do is win both games and hope that all other results go their way. The Canaries play Watford at home tonight with the visitors already secured another season in the top flight, and with nothing left to play for. Their from in the 2nd half of the season has been no where near as impressive as the 1st half, but manager Quique Flores will be imploring his players to do their best. But with the manager expected to leave as well at the end of the season, the chances are that Norwich will have an opportunity to win and they are 17/20 to do so, with Watford on 7/2.
The final game tonight normally would attract most of the attention, but this Liverpool v Chelsea has all the markings of an ‘also ran’ match. Nothing mush to play for apart from pride, and with the Liverpool players wanting to stay fit for the Europa League final, this may not be as hard fought as normal. Both team’s players will also be thinking about going to Euro 2016 so they won’t want to get injured in this match that counts for nothing.
Chelsea’s form has been woeful recently however, and they are expected to lose. Liverpool are favourites at 10/11, and Chelsea are priced at 16/5
Kevin de Bruyne ‘corner’ (video)
Hasty Kevin de Bruyne corner goes wrong in Arsenal v Man City game last night. The reaction of the kid in the crowd behind the corner flag is hilarious.
And another amazing goal (video)
We’re on a roll with the great goals. Check out this one, scored at the weekend by Berkhamsted player Josh Chamberlain in the FA Vase. Again the goalkeeper won’t be too happy about this one.
